Kicking off intake

How cast & crew details start flowing in — deliberately, never self-serve.

Productions are created by Business & Legal Affairs after the firm is retained. There is no inbound or self-serve creation — a production existing means the engagement is real.

The kickoff note

When a production is set up, BALA prepares a kickoff note for the producer containing the intake address and the portal link. Review the draft, adjust the message and the “from” line, and send. That send is the signal for cast & crew details to begin arriving.

What intake accepts

The producer simply emails the intake address. BALA's email agent reads the message body and classifies every attachment — call sheets, rosters, licenses, and more — turning them into roster entries. Anything it can't confidently route lands in Triage for a human to assign.

Longtail intake

Real productions don't always send a clean roster. BALA is built to handle the messy cases — mixed attachments, partial info, forwarded threads — and to ask for a human when it isn't sure.
