Productions are created by Business & Legal Affairs after the firm is retained. There is no inbound or self-serve creation — a production existing means the engagement is real.
The kickoff note
When a production is set up, BALA prepares a kickoff note for the producer with the firm's intake address and the portal link, plus a what-to-send pack generated from the firm's own active templates — what information each agreement type needs — and a standing missing-info grid link the production can fill any time. Review the draft, adjust the message, and send. That send is the signal for cast & crew details to begin arriving.
What intake accepts
The producer simply emails the firm's one intake address — the same address for every production, so a repeat production company only ever remembers one place to send things. BALA's email agent reads the message body, classifies every attachment — call sheets, rosters, licenses, and more — routes the email to the right production, and turns it into roster entries. Anything it can't confidently place lands in the route-this queue, where one click assigns it to a production and issues the clean deals.
Longtail intake
Real productions don't always send a clean roster. BALA is built to handle the messy cases — mixed attachments, partial info, forwarded threads — and to ask for a human when it isn't sure.
