How BALA works

Every production moves through the same four stages. Understanding them is enough to understand the whole tool.

1. 1

   Retained & set up

   A production company hires the firm. Business & Legal Affairs creates the production and sends the producer a kickoff note with an intake address and a portal link.

2. 2

   Cast & crew come in

   The producer emails cast and crew details to the intake address. Our email agent reads the message and its attachments — call sheets, rosters, licenses — and builds the roster automatically.

3. 3

   Paper is issued

   For each person, we generate the right agreement and send it for signature over a one-time link. Business terms — above-the-line deals and high rates — go to the producer for a quick text sign-off; genuinely legal exceptions, like a redline or a minor, go to counsel.

4. 4

   Clear to shoot

   Every agreement is executed with tamper-evident signing evidence and delivered to the production company's portal as clean chain-of-title — before the first frame.
